BOSTON, July 13 (UPI) -- Police in Massachusetts said a Boston woman was ticketed for using a mannequin as a fake passenger in a high-occupancy carpool vehicle lane.

Massachusetts State Police said the woman's vehicle was pulled over at about 9:10 a.m. Monday near Exit 13 of Interstate 93 in Boston when a trooper noticed the passenger in her car was a mannequin while she was driving in the high-occupancy vehicle lane, which requires at least two people in vehicles, the Boston Globe reported Tuesday.

The driver, whose name was not released, was given a ticket bearing a $35 fine. The mannequin was confiscated.
