HOMER GLEN, Ill., July 1 (UPI) -- Police in Illinois said they arrested a dockworker who stole dozens of items being shipped by his company and put them up for sale on eBay.

Investigators said Thomas Ficek, 48, of Homer Glen, took items being shipped by Standard Forwarding Co., a trucking firm where he has worked for five years, and put them up for sale on eBay, the Joliet (Ill.) Herald-News reported Thursday.

Will County sheriff's detectives said a radio modem reported missing from Standard Forwarding Co. was found for sale on eBay by user "bidhighuwin," who was identified as Ficek.

"A Standard Forwarding Company representative stated theft has been an ongoing problem at the Forest View terminal, and Ficek's name has come up," police said.

They said "over 30 items" were recovered during a June 24 search of Ficek's home.

Ficek was charged with selling stolen property online and released after posting $7,500 bond.

Detectives said Ficek admitted during questioning to taking "anything that went through the terminal that he could pull off a pallet and put in his car."
