Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens officials said the recipe, which was used by Washington's distillery until it burned down in 1814, was found at his mansion and the whiskey was made at the reconstructed distillery last year.

The 550 bottles, each containing 12.7 fluid ounces, will be sold for $85 each to benefit local education programs starting at noon July 1. The kickoff event will also include free tastes of the liquor, officials said.

Lost ring back after 33 years

RICHARDSON, Texas, June 29 (UPI) -- A Texas woman who lost her class ring 33 years ago said it has been returned to her.

Maureen Gresham of Richardson, formerly Maureen Hamann, said she lost the Class of 1976 ring from Virginia's Longwood College in the spring of 1977 while feeling sick at the side of a road. She said she had gone out to a dinner in Carrollton and became sick afterward, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Gresham said she was able to obtain a replacement, but it wasn't an exact match to the original.

She said she received a call this month from Jake Pennington, a man who told her his mother, Perry Kelley Pennington, had found the ring about 33 years ago and had been unable to identify the true owner until he looked up the inscribed name on ancestry.com.

Perry Kelley Pennington said she was glad to be able to give the ring back. She said she hopes a lasting friendship will grow from her bond with the other woman.

"We've invited them to come out and visit and have dinner," she said. "I already feel like I know her."

Monroe chest X-ray auctioned for $45,000

LAS VEGAS, June 29 (UPI) -- A Las Vegas auction featuring Hollywood memorabilia included a 1954 Marilyn Monroe chest X-ray, which sold for $45,000.

Julien's Auctions, which conducted the sale on behalf of Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, said the X-ray had only been expected to sell for $800 to $1,200, but it defied expectations by attracting a $45,000 high bid during Sunday's auction, the New York Daily News reported.

"(The X-ray) was taken around the time she was believed to be pregnant, and rumor has it that she had a miscarriage," said Darren Julien, president and chief executive of Julien's Auctions.

ST. PAUL, Minn., June 29 (UPI) -- Police in Minnesota said a 15-year-old girl cited for stealing 44 pairs of panties from a store told officers she was in need of clean underwear.

St. Paul police said the teenager, who was caught June 19 after leaving a Kmart store with a tote bag loaded with underpants she didn't pay for, asked officers if they "expect me to wear dirty underwear," the St. Paul Pioneer-Press reported.

Investigators said 31 of the briefs were priced at $4.99 each and 13 were $3.99 each.

The girl was cited for misdemeanor theft, police said.
