LAKEMOOR, Ill., June 28 (UPI) -- Illinois police said they are piecing together the story of a woman who fell from a third-story window, landed on a car and fell asleep on a neighbor's couch.

Lakemoor Police Chief Mike Marchese said interviews with family members of the 30-year-old woman indicate she likely opened a window at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday and somehow fell through the screen and plummeted to the hood of her car below, The Daily Herald, Arlington Heights, Ill., reported Monday.

Marchese said the woman, whose name was not released, bounced off the car and landed on the pavement. He said she then stood up, walked into a neighbor's house through an open garage door and fell asleep on a couch.

Police said the neighbor found the woman at about 5:30 a.m. and she was taken to Centegra Hospital-McHenry, where doctors determined she did not have any life-threatening injuries.

"There is absolutely no indication that alcohol or any drugs played a role in this at all," Marchese said. "There are no signs of foul play or of a break-in or anything. All the circumstances show that this was a freak accident."
