Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe LEWISTON, N.Y., June 16 (UPI) -- Police in New York state said they found two highly intoxicated men naked and covered in mud in a wooded area in the Town of Lewiston. Lewiston police and the New York State police station in Niagara said authorities received a call about 5:45 a.m. Sunday about a tattooed man standing naked near a road, the Buffalo (N.Y.) News reported Wednesday. Advertisement Clayton Holtz, 22, of Hamilton, Ontario, was found sitting at the roadside by officers. They said the reported tattoos were actually clumps of mud caked onto his body. A second man, Brandon Thomas, 23, also of Hamilton, was found face down in the mud nearby. "Brandon was passed out, lying face down in the mud, and he wasn't getting up any time soon," Trooper William Persinger said. "We had to physically drag him out of the mud puddle." Persinger said police determined the men had been at the St. John de LaSalle Carnival in Niagara Falls and decided to dance naked in the woods after the event. "It's definitely an anomaly to come across two individuals highly intoxicated, naked and covered in mud," Persinger said. "They took the St. John's Fest and made it a Woodstock event." Advertisement The men, who were not charged with any crimes, were taken to Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston and later released.
