SEGUIN, Texas, June 9 (UPI) -- Police in Texas said a month-old case of 14,000 pounds of food stolen from a food bank turned out to be an inventory error.

Investigators said the food was reported stolen May 7 from the EATS Foundation food bank in Seguin, and police detective Aaron Seidenberger said the investigation was opened because of empty boxes in the building, the San Antonio News-Express reported Wednesday.

However, Seidenberger said a detailed inventory of the food bank found the former contents of the boxes, valued at $2,100, were still inside the facility.
