RIVER FOREST, Ill., June 4 (UPI) -- Suburban Chicago police said a Saudi Arabian student was arrested for allegedly making a false bomb threat against a school because he received a bad grade.

River Forest police said Mohamed Mahdey S. Al Shria was arrested Wednesday at the River Forest home of his host family about an hour after the bomb threat at Dominican University's Priory Campus, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

Police said the Cook County Bomb Squad and K-9 team began searching the campus at 2:22 p.m. and the campus was reopened at 4:56 p.m., after authorities determined the threat was not credible.

Al Shria was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and released on bond. Interim Police Chief Gregory Weiss said investigators believe Al Shria called in the threat after receiving a bad grade.

Kristin Peterson, a Dominican University spokeswoman, said Al Shria was enrolled in an English Language Studies, or ELS, program that rents space on Dominican's campus.

"The students are not considered students, but they are able to use the facilities," she said.
