MINNEAPOLIS, June 4 (UPI) -- A man who drove the getaway van for a bank robber who wished the teller a "Merry Christmas" was convicted by a Minneapolis jury.

The federal jury found David Dixon, 39, of Rochester, Minn., guilty Thursday of helping Ryan Liskow, 30, of Jordan, Minn., in the Dec. 28 robbery at Franklin Bank in Minneapolis, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Friday.

Liskow pleaded guilty to bank robbery in March. Sentencing dates have not been set for either defendant.

Prosecutors said Liskow entered the bank at about 10:15 a.m. and gave a teller a note reading: "I don't want to hurt anyone. Count out $2,000 into my hand. No dye pack or you'll get hurt. Merry Christmas and New Years."

Liskow fled with $4,097 and was seen climbing into the passenger side of a van, which ran a stop sign as it fled the area, prosecutors said.

The van was pulled over by police who recovered the money and arrested the suspects.
