HARTFORD, Conn., May 21 (UPI) -- A wheelchair-bound Connecticut woman who allegedly rolled away from police attempting to question her for theft is scheduled for court Monday, officials say.

Police say Paula Jackson, 43, was at a local Walgreen's May 10 near her home on Washington Street in Hartford, Conn., where she allegedly shoved food and a Rubik's Cube under her sweatshirt, The Hartford Courant reported Friday.

When an officer responded to the theft report, Jackson allegedly "started to leave the area" via her motorized wheelchair, police Lt. Heather Desmond said.

The officer caught up to Jackson where he saw the alleged stolen items "bulging through her shirt," the newspaper said.

She was released on a promise to appear Monday in Superior Court in Middletown.
