WASHINGTON, May 17 (UPI) -- A runaway horse did not cause any injury to itself or others while it galloped through the streets of Washington, witnesses said.
Scott Ingram, who was driving Sunday evening near Military Road and Oregon Avenue, and other witnesses said the horse gave its handlers the slip in Rock Creek Park and galloped through city streets to the Chevy Chase neighborhood, The Washington Post reported Monday.
Ingram said he and others gave chase until the horse slowed down, allowing the group to get a leash around its neck.
"We were just kind of walking it up and down," Ingram said, "trying to talk to it."
He said the animal's handlers eventually arrived and loaded it into a trailer. He said they told witnesses the horse had been spooked by a dog's bark.
