HAYS, Kan., May 12 (UPI) -- A Kansas woman who previously held the record for the world's oldest college graduate is obtaining her master's degree at the age of 98.
Nola Ochs, who held the title of world's oldest college graduate until last year following her graduation from Fort Hays State University at the age of 95, is scheduled to receive her master's in liberal studies with a history concentration from the Hays, Kan., school Saturday, the Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported Wednesday.
"For some reason, I really enjoy walking across that platform and receiving an award," the great-grandmother of 15 said Tuesday. "Maybe I'm a little vain -- I don't want to be, but maybe I am."
Ochs said she does not plan to end her education with Saturday's ceremony.
"Oh, you won't believe it," she said. "I've enrolled in a summer class. And a couple classes for the fall."
