NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., April 27 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a man pulled over by a sheriff's deputy attempted to swallow a baggy of marijuana along with a double cheeseburger.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said Samuel Collins, 28, had the baggy of marijuana in his mouth when a deputy pulled him over at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday and began shoving a double cheeseburger into his mouth when the deputy told him to spit it out, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Tuesday.
The deputy said Collins, who was pulled over after a McDonald's bag flew out his car window, refused to spit the contents of his mouth out until he was grabbed by the arm and forced to the ground.
Collins spit out the marijuana, the deputy wrote in his report. A rolled marijuana cigarette was also found on Collins' passenger seat.
Collins was charged with marijuana possession, tampering with evidence and driving without a license. He was taken to the Land O' Lakes jail and released on bond Sunday.
