SALISBURY, N.C., April 26 (UPI) -- Police in North Carolina said they arrested a man who was stopped with a sawed-off shotgun concealed inside the front of his pants.
Salisbury, N.C., police said Jeremiah Howie and three other men were stopped at about 4 a.m. EDT Monday in Salisbury in connection with a robbery investigation and Howie fled on foot, WSOC-TV, Charlotte, N.C., reported Monday.
Officers said they caught up to Howie and he told them about the weapon and said he was afraid it was going to go off in his pants.

Howie was jailed on weapons charges and held in lieu of $20,000 bond.
