Evelia Rivera delivered her three boys via a Caesarean section procedure on her 25th birthday Wednesday. She said Dr. Steven Ambrose of Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn told her he shares a birthday with her and her newborns, the (Chicago) SouthtownStar reported Monday.
"We all thought that was pretty cool," her husband, Edwin Rivera, 30, said.
The new mother said she and her husband turned to intrauterine insemination in November 2009 after a year's worth of failed attempts at a natural conception. She said the procedure worked on the first try and caused her to become pregnant with triplets.
Evelia Rivera said doctors told her she could be released as early as Monday and her sons, Jayden Edwin, Jordan Michael and Julian Kobe, are likely to be sent home next month.
