Woman crashes into salon, gets hair done

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 5 (UPI) -- An elderly Michigan woman who accidentally crashed her car into a hair salon while attempting to park said she stuck around the scene to keep her appointment.

Marion Zock, 82, said she arrived at Classic Hair Design in Plainfield Township just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday and accidentally stepped on the accelerator of her Ford Fusion instead of the brake while trying to park in a tight spot, WOOD-TV, Grand Rapids, Mich., reported Monday.

"It didn't take any length of time at all, and all I kept thinking was, where's the brake? And I thought the store would stop me but it didn't," Zock said.

Police said there were two injuries reported as a result of Zock's crash into the store, an employee who returned to work later in the day and a young girl whose arm was bruised.

Zock said she remained at a salon to keep her appointment.

"I sat there with my face in my hands because I was so embarrassed," Zock said.

Police said Zock will likely receive a citation for reckless driving.
