Cross-country drive on 2 gallons of gas

NEW YORK, March 15 (UPI) -- Burglars cut two holes in the roof of a bank and climbed in through heating vents, but nothing was taken from the institution, New York police said.
A police spokesman said the burglars cut two holes in the roof of Sovereign Bank just before 5 p.m. EDT Sunday -- cutting the second hole because the first one was apparently in the wrong location, the New York Daily News reported Monday.
The burglars then climbed through heating vents to a room storing safety deposit boxes but left the bank without taking any money or possessions, the spokesman said.
Police said they did not know how many people were involved in the incident and didn't have any suspects.
