Cross-country drive on 2 gallons of gas
NEW YORK, March 10 (UPI) -- A New York man said he is on No. 59 in his mission to visit 365 bars in as many days and detail his experiences on his blog.
Marty Wombacher, 51, said he plans to walk into No Idea Bar, the 59th stop on his journey, Wednesday to drink beer, take pictures and blog about the experience at www.aguywalksinto365bars.com, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
"My ideal New York bar is a dive bar with really interesting characters," Wombacher said. "If you have the coolest bar in the world, but it is filled with jerks, then you will have a rotten time. Who wants to drink in a room filled with jerks?"
Wombacher said his favorite bar so far has been Winnie's Bar & Restaurant in Chinatown.
"The bartender brought me a free fried pork chop. He only cooks for employees. It is his way to say that he likes you," he said.
