LONDON, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- The British arm of toymaker Hasbro said a worldwide Trivial Pursuit battle of the sexes ended with women 100,000 points ahead of men.

Katreena Lines, Britain-based global senior marketing manager of Hasbro-owned Trivial Pursuit, said the five-month experiment, carried out at www.trivialpursuitexperiment.com, involved players from all over the world answering questions on behalf of their genders in English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Danish, The Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Lines said the balance shifted multiple times over the course of five months, with 15,121,731 total questions answered, but women ended the game 100,000 points ahead of men.

"The online experience invited everyone to show off their inner genius, by answering 1, 10 or 100 questions a day, in support of their team," Lines said. "Our congratulations to the women who fought hard for the win."

The categories included Entertainment, the most popular overall among players, as well as Science & Nature, Sports & Leisure, History, Arts & Literature, Geography and People & Places.
