SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- An alleged laptop thief was nailed by tracking software when he used stolen computers to view his own mug shot on the Internet, Utah police said.

Authorities said two laptops were stolen Dec. 10 from EZ Rent-to-Own in Salt Lake City. A worker used software installed on the computers to monitor Internet use on the stolen machines and noticed the machine had been used to visit the Salt Lake County jail's Web site, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Wednesday.
