Brent Christiansen said he uses 20 sprinkler heads to expand the structure by 10-12 tons of ice each day on the golf course of the Zermatt Resort and Spa in Midway, Utah, and he plans to continue expanding the project through the end of February, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.

Christiansen said the resort allows him to keep the $2 entrance fee visitors must pay to enter the castle and he and his wife were given a room at the hotel for the season.

The self-taught sculptor said the main tower of the structure is expected to reach three to four stories high by the time of its completion.

Man finds counterfeit $200,000 in used car

BALL GROUND, Ga., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Authorities in Georgia said a man discovered $200,000 in counterfeit bills hidden in a compartment behind the back seat of a used car he recently purchased.

Cherokee County sheriff's deputies said Tye Kuykendall of Ball Ground was repairing a gas leak in the car he purchased for $400 from a towing company last year, after it has been sitting in an impound lot since a 2006 drug bust, when he found a hidden compartment behind the back seat, WSB-TV, Atlanta, reported.

Kuykendall said the compartment contained a white sack filled with thousands of $100 bills.

He said he called the Cherokee County Sheriff, which contacted U.S. Treasury officials, and the cash was found to be counterfeit.

Investigators said they were working with the U.S. Secret Service to determine where the bills may have originated before the vehicle was impounded.

Reindeer fitted with artificial leg

GRANVILLE, Ohio, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- An Ohio orthotist said she outfitted a reindeer that lost its leg due to an infection with a prosthetic limb.

Kathy Simmons said she thought someone was playing a joke on her when a Granville woman called her office near Reynoldsburg and asked if she was able to make a prosthetic leg for a reindeer, the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch reported.

"I never even knew reindeer were domesticated," she said. "Of course I thought she was kidding."

Simmons said she made an appointment but was shocked when the woman actually showed up with a three-legged deer.

The owner, who asked not to be named, said the reindeer had a bone infection when she purchased him in December and had to have the lower part of his front left leg amputated.

Simmons said she and prosthetist Joe Nye created a 20-inch-long prosthetic with a hoof-like round bottom and fitted the artificial limb to the deer for the first time Sunday.

"He's a high-tech critter," Nye said.
