NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Hundreds of men dressed in drag marched in New Orleans Sunday to honor the beloved late broadcaster Buddy Diliberto, organizers say.
New Orleans' WWL-TV said the parade was in recognition of Diliberto's longtime pledge to his listeners that if the New Orleans Saints ever made it to the Super Bowl, he would wear a dress. The Saints will play Indianapolis in this coming Sunday's Super Bowl in Miami.
The TV station said the parade from the Louisiana Superdome to the French quarter was led by former Saints quarterback Bobby Hebert, who topped off his outfit with a blond wig and tiara.
March participant Steve Johns lauded the blond wig paired with fishnet stockings and gold sandals sported by his friend, Craig Sanders.
"He's going to make us look bad," Johns told The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune. "Or maybe he'll make himself look bad."
