WHEATON, Ill., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- An Illinois Republican running for a county board spot pulled a video from his Web site that featured an expletive and a racial epithet.

Gary Grasso, who is competing against fellow Republicans Debra Olson, Dan Cronin and Carole Pankau to run against Democrat Carole Cheney in November's DuPage County Board election, said he pulled the video, a rap song created by friends of his son, from his Web site after he was informed of its content by the Arlington Heights (Ill.) Daily Herald, the newspaper reported Friday.

"I had heard about the video, but I didn't understand there to be anything on there like that," Grasso said. "It's certainly nothing anybody I'm associated with would ever condone."

Grasso said his Web master heard about the video and linked to it on his campaign site last week.
