FOND DU LAC, Wis., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Police in Wisconsin said an officer issued a citation to a man for "rocking out" to John Denver music too loudly in his apartment.
A Fond du Lac Police Department report of the incident said Officer Ryan Williams was called to Calumet Apartments for a loud noise complaint at about 3:11 a.m. last Wednesday, Gannett Wisconsin Media reported.
Williams said in the report that the 42-year-old resident did not answer the door until the officer called out his name, which he learned from a neighbor.
The officer, who said he recognized the loud music as that of late singer John Denver, asked the man why the music was so loud. The man was quoted in the report as saying he was "rocking out."
The man was issued a citation for unnecessary loud noise, which could result in a fine of up to $208.50.
