NEW YORK, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- A New York man said he is doing is part to keep the N trains pleasant by snapping pictures of people misbehaving on public transportation.

Pete Malachowsky said he uses his iPhone to snap pictures of people picking their noses, applying their makeup, eating messily or otherwise acting in ways he considers rude on the commuter train in the Astoria neighborhood and posts the photos, along with his comments, to Twitter account NTrainGossip, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

"All the people who ride the N train see these things," Malachowsky said. "I'm not the only one who saw that girl cough all over the place. I'm just the only one who said something."

Malachowsky said the Twitter account, which he began Dec. 18, already has more than 700 followers.

The Twitter account has even resulted in the creation of a response account, NTrainStrikesBk, which was started by a group of N train riders and is dedicated to warning fellow travelers about Malachowsky's photo snapping.

"The people that hate (NTrainGossip) so much are the people that are making it so popular," Malachowsky said.
