HIGHLAND PARK, Texas, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- The release of three pot-bellied pigs in the hallways of a high school in Highland Park, Texas, was likely a senior prank, officials say.
School district officials said Friday's episode at Highland Park High School ended with rumors of one of the released swine being fatally injured during his school visit, serving as a reminder of the possible fallout from student pranks, The Dallas Morning News reported Saturday.
University Park Animal Control confirmed all three pigs were all alive and well after being captured.
Dallas County Animal Control was holding the pigs, two males and one female, at its livestock lot.
The individual or individuals responsible have not been identified to date, the Morning News said.
School district representative Helen Williams said students considering similar pranks in the future may not be so lucky.
"An ominous mention of more cameras," Williams said, "would be welcome."
