HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- A New Jersey woman accused of disorderly conduct for swearing at a high school principal at a nighttime forum pleaded not guilty during a hearing.
An attorney for Cindy Schwalb entered the plea in Judge Joseph Jones's courtroom Wednesday to the charge brought by the Hasbrouck Heights School District, The (Bergen County, N.J.) Record reported Thursday.
Schwalb was charged under a borough ordinance after she swore at principal Edward Bolcar at the conclusion of a Sept. 16 forum on bullying and harassment because she felt the presentation did not receive the attention it required. Schwalb said she regrets her outburst and had been upset about how the district handled her complaints after her 13-year-old daughter's pants were pulled down by a boy at school in May.
The charge carries a maximum jail sentence of 90 days, but Jones said the court typically issues fines in such cases.
