KANSAS CITY, Mo., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Police in Missouri said a woman charged with trashing a McDonald's told officers she was angry because she was having "a bad day."

Kansas City police said Alesha McMullen, 19, ordered a cheeseburger snack wrap at the McDonald's Dec. 27 and became angry when she was instead given a regular cheeseburger, the Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported Wednesday.

Employees told police they made McMullen a replacement burger, but she refused it. Police said she began damaging the store after employees refused to give her a cash refund.

McMullen allegedly threw a water dispenser and a plastic wet floor sign over the counter of the restaurant and knocked three cash registers to the ground, damaging one. The total damage to the store was estimated at $3,000.

The suspect was arrested on a tip Sunday after police released security camera footage of the incident to the public. She was charged with a felony count of property damage.

Investigators said McMullen admitted to throwing items in the store because they "messed up" her order. She told detectives she had been having "a bad day."
