LEXINGTON, Ky., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Police in Kentucky said they are investigating whether a bank robbery involving a man in women's clothing is connected to other cross-dressing crimes.
Berea Police Capt. Ken Clark said a handgun-wielding man wearing makeup, a dark brown wig and a green coat with a hood and fur trim took an undisclosed amount of money from the Cumberland Valley National Bank & Trust in Berea just prior to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader reported Friday.
Police said the robber dropped some of the cash on his way from the bank to his getaway vehicle.
Clark said investigators are looking into possible connections to robberies at businesses in nearby Danville and Richmond. He said the suspect in each of those crimes was also described as a man in women's clothing.
