NEW YORK, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- A U.S. poll suggests President Barack Obama and his family are the most desirable neighbors in the country, but not by much.

The Harris poll of 2,000 adults, conducted online for Web site Zillow.com, found 14 percent of respondents picked the Obamas as the people they most want living next door, while Sarah Palin tied for second place with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi at 12 percent, The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 17 percent of those polled picked "Octomom" Nadya Suleman as their least desirable neighbor, while reality TV divorcees Jon and Kate Gosselin got 16 percent of the vote. Palin also appeared on the least-desirable list with 11 percent of the vote.

"For two years in a row now, Americans have made it clear that they think politicians and talk show hosts make the best neighbors," Amy Bohutinsky of Zillow said. "If nothing else, there will be plenty to talk about at the summer barbecue."

"Meanwhile, this year we noticed a trend on the worst-neighbor side; apparently Americans are opposed to living next door to a brood of young children, particularly those that come with a television crew and paparazzi," she said.
