LADERA RANCH, Calif., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- A California toy store owner said a package bearing a false return address for his store contained a teddy bear stuffed with marijuana.
Joshua Vecchione, owner of Toy Town in Ladera Ranch, said the package that arrived at about noon last Tuesday contained a 2-foot-tall blue teddy bear that he said felt "hard and crinkly," The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported Tuesday.
Vecchione said the package was addressed to a David Lang in Colorado and listed Toy Town as the return address, despite bearing a postmark from Thousand Oaks, Calif., the newspaper reported.
"Some mix-up took place," Vecchione said. "The postmaster should have noticed."
The store owner called Orange County Sheriff's Deputies, who sliced open the bear and discovered three packages appearing to contain marijuana. Vecchione estimated the vacuum-sealed packages were about 10 inches by 10 inches by 2 inches.
