IPSWICH, England, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- An escaped prison inmate has been using a Facebook page to needle British authorities, describing the meals he is eating and the warmth of his home.

Craig "Lazie" Lynch has also acquired 199 Facebook friends, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday. The photo on the page shows him making a gesture using his middle finger.

Lynch was nearing the end of a seven-year sentence for burglary when he escaped from Hollesley Bay, an open prison in Suffolk, in September.

While Lynch boasts he plans to attend a New Year's Eve party in Lowestoft, a coastal town in Suffolk, a spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary, said he has no real ties to the county. She said police there have asked colleagues in other departments to keep an eye on addresses where Lynch is known to have family or friends.

In the meantime, Lynch claims to be enjoying his freedom. He said he ate one meal that included a 12-pound venison steak, roast vegetables and french fries.

On a cold night, he said, he used a sun bed as an extra heater, and it was "like the Caribbean" in his bedroom.
