LINCOLN, England, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- British authorities said a mugger gave his name and address to someone who called a cellphone he had recently stolen.

Prosecutors told Lincoln Crown Court Peter Gamblin, 24, a former England junior billiards champion, was "full of bravado" when he answered the phone he stole from Jonathan Franke and gave his name and address to Joe Dale, a friend of the victim, The Sun reported Monday.

"Perhaps he thought he was on top of the world, or perhaps he did not know how to hang up," Prosecutor David Outterside told Lincoln Crown Court.

Outterside said Gamblin remained on the phone with Dale for 42 minutes.

Gamblin, who also took money from Franke during the crime, was convicted of robbery. Prosecutors said he is likely to face a jail sentence.
