reported. But they were out of cellphone range.

The couple were on a forest road that crosses the border into California, the Medford Mail Tribune reported. They got stuck Tuesday afternoon and were able to move again early Thursday.

Jennifer Lee told KDRV she called 911 as soon as she was back near a cellphone tower to let police know they could stop the search.

Authorities were looking for the couple at high elevations, the Mail Tribune said. They had told their children they hoped to find a silvertip fir, a tree that grows only high in the hills.
