Sumner County Sheriff Bob Barker said Rawls is charged with vandalism under $500, contributing to the

delinquency of a minor and criminal trespassing. He said Rawls was assisted in the vandalism by a seventh-grader.

The total damage from the vandalism was estimated at $250. Barker said investigators believe the vandalism was in retaliation for comments another teacher made about Rawls.

Rawls, a former teacher at Portland East who was transferred July 31 to Watt Hardison Elementary, is due back in court Dec. 16.
