The School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Leeds has advertised to fill the position, The Daily Telegraph reports.
The ad reads: "Research Officer -- The rise and regulation of lap dancing and the place of sexual labor and consumption in the night time economy." Once the job is filled, the officer is to help with research into the "rise, tolerance and integration of sexual consumption and sexual labor displayed through the erotic dance industry."
"Prior experience of conducting research in the female sex industry" is a requirement.
Sociologists at Leeds plan to interview 300 exotic dancers in northern English cities for their study as well as managers and regulators.
