BARTONVILLE, Ill., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Police in Illinois said surveillance video recorded a deer breaking a meat shop's $500 plate glass window.

Bartonville Police Chief Brian Fengel said no one was injured Thursday morning when the deer shattered the window of Echo Valley Meats and ran off, the Peoria (Ill.) Journal reported Friday.

"I know it's rut season for deer," Fengel said. "We've had a lot of deer accidents and a lot of deer running around."

Dave Alwan, owner of Echo Valley Meats, said deer meat is among the products processed at his store.

"We're so good, they're just dying to get in," Alwan said.
