ANDERSON, S.C., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Authorities in South Carolina said a man who was shot during an argument about a video game appears reluctant to press charges against the shooter.

Anderson County sheriff's Lt. Darrell Hill said Anthony Alexander, 23, of Anderson, S.C., was shot in the abdomen by his uncle, Darryl Lewis, 57, during an argument that also involved Alexander's mother and sister, the Anderson (S.C.) Independent-Mail reported Wednesday.

Hill said Anderson had been arguing with his sister because she had turned off his video game at the request of their mother and the situation got out of hand when Lewis intervened.

Alexander's mother, Lynette Alexander, 46, was shot in the right hand during the incident.

Lewis was detained at his house but not arrested. Hill said Alexander, who was treated with his mother at AnMed Health, was showing "a lot of reluctance" to press charges against his uncle.
