Job ad for naked workers pulled

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- A Swedish employment agency said it pulled an ad seeking workers willing to get naked and with experience "making out in bars."

The National Public Employment Agency said it took down the posting from organizers of the Arvika music festival due to concerns about its potentially offensive content, The Local reported.

"It may be inappropriate for us to participate in recruitment of that sort," agency representative Kai Oja said.

The posting said the festival was seeking people who aren't afraid to get naked and test new ideas.

"Intelligence is not a plus," the advertisement read. "We're looking for people with practical experience in such things as setting up tents in the rain. Making out in bars. Listening to loud music and dancing for hours in the mud."

"You should have a good understanding of social situations, be able to work/go with groups of drunken, crazy people," it read.

Jonas Linne, one of the festival's organizers, said he has already received about 100 applications for the job.

"We don't think it's offensive at all," he said. "Sometimes you get naked at festivals. It's nice to be naked."

Woman cited for repeated horn honking

VANDALIA, Ohio, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Police in Ohio said a woman was cited for disorderly conduct for repeatedly honking her horn while driving past a neighbor's home.

Vandalia police said a woman called officers to report a neighbor was honking the horn every time she drove past her window and investigators warned the neighbor to cease the honking, the Dayton (Ohio) Daily News reported.

However, the complainant's daughter took video of the neighbor honking her horn outside of the house the following day and police returned. Officers spoke to the neighbor and she said she was honking the horn to avoid an accident with another car. However, police said no other cars were visible in the video.

The woman was again warned to cease the honking and cited for disorderly conduct.

Hockey team back after underpants drill

BOISE, Idaho, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- An Idaho junior hockey team suspended from its ice arena for a drill that involved players stripping to their underpants is back at the arena.

The Idaho Junior Steelheads, who were suspended from Idaho IceWorld in Boise, apologized for the Oct. 21 drill that involved players removing a piece of equipment every time they missed a shot, KTVB-TV, Boise, reported.

A family with a 6-year-old girl walked into the area while several players were in their briefs and one team member was mooning the others.

IceWorld suspended the team for its next four scheduled practices and added an extra week of suspension for the player who showed his bare behind.

Videos posted to YouTube depict pros from the Tampa Bay Lightning stripping down for a similar drill.

The Idaho Junior Steelheads team has 18 players between ages 17 and 20.

Store owner allowed to keep painted flag

NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- Officials in a Florida town voted to allow a shopkeeper to keep the big U.S. flag she painted on the outside wall of her consignment store.

Elena Johnson told the North Palm Beach Code Enforcement Board she painted the 13-foot by 40-foot flag on the outside wall of True Treasures to draw people to her business after the village denied her permission to paint stripes on the building, The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported.

Johnson said the flag served dual purposes of drawing attention to her business and expressing her patriotism.

"I'm very proud of the flag. It represents liberty and entrepreneurship," said the 80-year-old businesswoman who came to America from Italy 53 years ago.

However, Christopher Ryder, vice chairman of the board and the lone dissenter in the 6-1 vote, said the flag is purely an advertising measure.

"(Mrs. Johnson) is disguising advertising in the American flag," Ryder said.
