Man, 112, marries 17-year-old

GURICEEL, Somalia, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A Somalian man who says he is 112 years old recently married a 17-year-old, using "my experience to convince her of my love."

Ahmed Muhamed Dhore, who said he has 13 children and 101 grandchildren, and his new wife, Safiya Abdulle, are from the village of Guriceel. He said he waited for her to grow up so they could marry, The Guardian (Britain) reported Friday.

"I didn't force her, but used my experience to convince her of my love, and then we agreed to marry," Dhore said at his wedding this week. "Today God helped me realize my dream."

Dhore said his children and two other wives agreed to the marriage. Dhore said three of his previous wives died and this was his first wedding in 75 years.
