MILWAUKEE, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A man who allegedly wore a wig, lipstick and dress while robbing a Milwaukee bank pulled the same stunt a couple of times five years ago, police records show.
Johnny Ray Bibbins, 35, was arrested this week. Police detectives allege he admitted robbing an M&I bank branch Oct. 13, saying he needed money for his girlfriend, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Thursday.
Investigators say the robber was wearing a curly wig and women's makeup, including red lipstick and carrying a "bomb" concocted from cans of vegetables picked up at a food pantry.
In 2004, Bibbins, wearing women's clothes and carrying a pellet gun, was arrested at a Family Dollar Store after a suspicious clerk called police. Records show investigators determined he had held up the same store two weeks before.
Bibbins was released from prison Oct. 1, 12 days before the bank robbery. He served an earlier sentence in the 1990s.
