SHEBOYGAN, Wis., Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Police in Wisconsin said they arrested an 18-year-old woman who allegedly tried to eat marijuana during a traffic stop.

Investigators said Jamie Salonen, 18, of Sheboygan, Wis., was a passenger Friday in a car pulled over by a Wisconsin state trooper who wrote in a report that the car was stopped because no one inside was wearing seat belts, the Sheboygan Press reported Tuesday.

The trooper approached the car and discovered Salonen, holding a small plastic bag commonly used to store drugs, had green residue on her lips. The police report said the trooper told the woman to open her mouth and discovered she was concealing marijuana. Marijuana was also found scattered around the passenger side of the car.

Salonen, who has a pending charge of marijuana possession with intent to deliver stemming from a July incident, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. She was also charged with felony bail jumping for allegedly violating her cash bond for the pending charge by possessing marijuana.
