KENT, Wash., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Election officials in Washington state said a school board primary resulted in write-in votes for Mickey Mouse, Jesus, Captain Hook and Darth Vader.
The 2009 Primary Election Recount Write-In Report, which lists write-in votes from the Aug. 18 Kent School Board primary, revealed votes were also cast for the secret identities of Superman and Batman -- Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne respectively -- as well as Pee Wee Herman and Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, The Kent (Wash.) Reporter reported Thursday.
King County Election Communications Officer Kim van Ekstrom said the write-in report was created last week during the recount to determine the second ballot line in the race for Kent School Board Director District No. 5. The recount confirmed Dale Smith as the second place finisher behind Tim Clark, who received more than 50 percent of the vote.
The report said "None of the Above" received the most write-in votes with 12.
