Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe BROOKHAVEN, N.Y., Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Police in Suffolk County, N.Y., say a Jeep ended up on the second floor of a local home due to alleged drunken driving. Suffolk police Sgt. Robert Lehmann said Adam Clark, 20, of East Moriches, N.Y., was allegedly intoxicated when he went off the road, hit a pile of dirt and went airborne toward a local home early Saturday morning, Newsday reported. Advertisement The vehicle crashed into the home's second floor and eventually ended up on the first floor of the house. Police said Clark and his passenger, Richard Mailand, 20, received minor injuries in the crash, while no one inside the home was hurt. Clark allegedly failed multiple sobriety tests after the accident and police obtained a blood sample to determine his blood alcohol level, which was not reported. Saturday morning's accident was a shock to the home's owner, John Sarli, 58, who told Newsday the incident ruined several family heirlooms and antiques. "I heard a bad crash and smelled dirt," he said of the accident while he slept in a first floor den. "And lo and behold there's a Jeep crashed into the second floor of my house." Advertisement
