ZACHARY, La., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Police in Louisiana said they arrested a woman accused of stealing a 12-pack of beer by hiding it between her legs.

Zachary police Cpt. David McDavid said Baker, La., resident Lisa Newsome, 42, admitted after her Monday arrest that she was the woman depicted on a security camera shoving the 12-pack of Miller Lite and a couple of sodas up her dress at Crossroads Grocery in early August, WAFB-TV, Baton Rouge, La., reported Wednesday.

"She attempted to show us how she did it," McDavid said. "But we told her not to pull her pants down."

McDavid said Newsome has 40 arrests on her record for charges including felony theft, possession of cocaine and writing bad checks.

Police said they are still searching for an alleged male accomplice seen trying to hide Newsome in the security camera footage.
