LANCASTER, Fla., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Police in Pennsylvania said a 72-year-old employee of a pizza parlor used a beer can to chase off a pair of would-be robbers, one wielding a shotgun.

Lancaster police Lt. Todd Umstead said the two robbers, who had bandanas over their faces, entered Six Packs on Vine at closing time Wednesday and one them pointed a shotgun at the worker, the Miami Herald reported Friday.

Umstead said the intruders fled the store when the older man threw a 12-ounce beer can at the man holding the shotgun.
