BRIGHTON, England, July 20 (UPI) -- A British mother says her 20-month-old baby came away from a 20-foot plunge out a window without a scratch because he bounced upon impact.
Dawn Longhurst, 22, of Brighton, England, said she rushed her son Callum to the hospital last week after finding him on a grassy patch beneath the second-story window of their home, fearing the worst. But the doctors examined him and found nothing wrong, The Daily Mail reported Monday.
Longhurst told the newspaper that medical experts believed the baby boy's bones were so supple they were able to absorb the blow and effectively bounce, sparing him from any injury. X-rays and CT scans performed at the Royal Sussex County Hospital reportedly found no signs of injury, the newspaper said.
"He was crying and screaming but the doctors later told me this was a good sign," she said. "I tried to comfort him but he was so upset and was holding his arm and his leg … It's a miracle."
