JERUSALEM, July 10 (UPI) -- The Jerusalem Bible Land Museum will exhibit hand-inscribed Bibles written in different languages as part of a worldwide project, museum officials said.

Thousands of people around the world have united to participate in the international project, called "People of the world inscribe the Bible," initiated by the Bible Valley Society together with Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the officials said.

The goal is to inscribe 100 Bibles in 100 languages.

The officials said the project's aim is to build bridges of understanding between the many cultures and faiths united by their love of the Bible.

This week, the museum will exhibit 10 hand-inscribed Bibles in 10 languages, including Chinese, Tamil and Finnish, the officials said.

Countries participating in the project include Costa Rica, the United States, Denmark, India, Hong Kong, Israel, Greece, Poland, Finland, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Latvia and Ukraine.
