KELLER, Texas, June 26 (UPI) -- Police in Texas said a two-man robbery spree was interrupted when they were pulled over and arrested while fleeing their second crime scene.
Keller police Lt. Brenda Slovak said the two men began their crime spree about 8 p.m. Wednesday at a Tetco store when one of the men ran into the store, acted like he was going to buy some items and fled with cash from the store's register, the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Friday.
Police said the same man ran into a Bear Creek Mini-Mart and pulled off a heist using the same methods only minutes after the first theft.
Slovak said Officer John Martin saw the 26-year-old man run to a silver Saturn being driven by a 23-year-old accomplice.
"He (Martin) had a description of the suspect's car and happened to see it as a man ran to it and jumped into the passenger side," Slovak said Thursday. "It turned out the man was running from a second holdup."
Police did not release the names of the suspects, who have not yet been arraigned.
