NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y., May 19 (UPI) -- Police in downstate New York said they were searching for a burglar at an eyewear store when the suspect fell through a false ceiling and landed at their feet.

Nassau County police said they responded to a report of a 6:45 a.m. burglary at the store in New Hyde Park and were told by a witness that the suspect was still inside, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

A police spokesman said officers were searching the store when Seamus Troy II, 19, fell through a false ceiling to the floor right in front of them.

Troy was arrested on suspicion of burglary, car theft and other charges.
