18-year-old graduating college

FORT WORTH, Texas, May 8 (UPI) -- A Texas Christian University student preparing for graduation is the youngest member of the school's class of 2009 at 18-years-old.

Troy Dodge is scheduled to graduate Saturday from the Fort Worth, Texas, school as the youngest person in his 1,114-strong class, the Fort Worth Star Telegram reported Friday.

Dodge's mother, Marlaina Weisl, said her son learned to read at age 3 and started taking classes at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, when he was 12.

Dodge said he worked hard to fit in with the older students at TCU, including playing intramural sports and becoming social chairman of the Alpha Epsilon Delta chapter for students seeking health careers.

"When I was at MCC, when I was really young, 12 or 13, it was obvious," he said. "Once I reached 15, I really worked to fit in, not just by appearance but attitude and behaviorwise."

Dodger said he plans to study social psychology in graduate school.
